What is this?

As only four implants are needed, the treatment time will be shorter. With All-on-4™ patient might avoids additional operations such us bone augmentation and sinus lift. After the placement of the implants Your dentist makes a temporary prosthesis in up to 5-10 days to avoid being toothless during the healing time. If it’s possible this temporary prosthesis might mean even fixed dentures. The teeth of the All-on-4™ bridge are very much like real teeth both in function and aesthetics. Therefore one can eat and speak normally with them. After six months of healing time the dentist can fix the permanent bridge which is usually screwed. The meals can be enjoyed again it’s possible to chew normally and to feel the tastes properly. It allows a life just like having the original teeth.

How long the All-on-4 type treatment takes?

The All-on-4 treatment usually requires two arrivals. On the first arrival, the implants are placed and provisional teeth are created. Since no bone graft is necessary with the All-on-4 type treatment, the complete healing of the implants usually takes place within 3-6 months. The first visit usually takes 5-10 days, the second visit 10 working days. On the first visit, the implants are placed, impression is taken, the temporary prosthesis or bridge is fitted, finalized and checked. The majority of patients are so satisfied with the temporary prosthesis that they even use it permanently. In the second treatment, a control is carried out, and if the patient requires, we will make a permanent prosthesis.

What is the difference between All-on-4, All-on-6 and All-on-8?

The name “All on” comes basically from the fact that the complete bridge is attached to 4, 6 or 8 implants depending on the procedure. Imagine that all your teeth are connected and have only 4, 6 or 8 roots that go into your jaw. This means that there is no need for an implant for every missing tooth. The concept of “All-on” solutions is that all teeth on the upper or lower jaw can be rehabilitated with only one oral surgery. There are 4, 6 or 8 implants and a fixed bridge without bone augmentation. Distance, angle and depth are specifically determined whilst placing the implants in the jaw.

The original All-on-4™ concept developed by Nobel Biocare contained four implants, the designations mentioned above differ in the number of implants placed. The more implants are used, the stronger and more stable the teeth become, the more evenly the pressure is distributed to the implants and thus to the jaw.
